COVERAGE
- LICENSE DEFENSE COVERAGE MOPS provides you with fully paid legal representation and defense by experienced maritime attorneys if your vessel is involved in a shipping casualty or shipping incident leading to action against your license.
- PROFESSIONAL EQUIPMENT COVERAGE MOPS indemnifies you against loss or damage to your professional equipment while aboard your vessel.
- LOSS OF INCOME COVERAGE (Optional) MOPS will pay your wages plus subsistence payments for up to 12 months should your license be revoked, suspended or reduced in grade as a result of a shipping casualty or shipping incident. You may choose to insure only a portion of your salary or decline this coverage altogether.
- CIVIL LEGAL DEFENSE COVERAGE (Optional) MOPS provides you with paid legal defense by experienced maritime attorneys should a civil lawsuit be brought against or served upon you in any court within the United States, its territories or a foreign court as the result of a shipping casualty or incident involving your vessel. Coverage limits begin at $50,000, and higher limits of coverage are considered upon request.
- CIVIL PENALTIES LEGAL DEFENSE COVERAGE (Optional) MOPS provides you with paid legal defense by experienced maritime attorneys should you be charged in a civil penalty action by the U.S. Coast Guard or any other entity within the United States, its territories or a foreign court or administrative entity with authority to impose a civil penalty or fine as the result of a shipping casualty or shipping incident involving your vessel. The standard coverage level is $10,000, and higher levels of coverage are considered upon request.
- NEW...CIVIL LIABILITY COVERAGE (Optional) MOPS provides you with professional liability insurance that protects your family's savings against civil judgments. Coverage limits begin at $500,000 per occurrence.
- FOREIGN PORT COVERAGE MOPS reimburses you for reasonable attorney fees and expenses if you are compelled to attend, either as a party or witness, any inquiry of a foreign court concerning a shipping casualty involving our vessel. The standard coverage level is $2,000.
